Cougars Beat Hornets 11-0

Box Score St. Louis, Mo. – This evening, the Columbia College men's baseball team was back in action as they traveled to St. Louis, Missouri to compete against the Harris-Stowe State University Hornets in this week's AMC Game of the Week. The Cougars went straight to work as they ended the game in seven innings, defeating the Hornets 11-0. The Cougars are now 17-12 on the season and 12-8 in conference play.
 
The Cougars had a great start as they scored three runs in the first inning. Columbia kept their momentum going as they added three more runs in the second and one in the third to extend their lead 7-0. The Cougars kept swinging their bats away as they tallied up another two runs in the fourth to make it a 9-0 game. Columbia added another run in both the sixth and seventh inning to win the game 11-0.
 
Chris Wall (4-3) was the sole pitcher on the mound for the Cougars as he did not allow any runs and struck out eight batters. Offensively, the Cougars were led by Dalton Bealmer who had two hits while scoring two runs and had four RBI, Kenny Piper who had two hits while scoring a run and had two RBI, and Justin Randle who went three for four and had two RBI to round out the top performers.
 
The baseball team is back in action tomorrow as they play a doubleheader against the Harris-Stowe State University Hornets to finish the AMC three-game series. First pitch is set to begin at noon.
