Henderson, Tenn. – The 4
th ranked Columbia College men's soccer team hit the road to Henderson, Tennessee today as they took on the Freed-Hardeman University Lions in an AMC matchup The Cougars topped the Lions 4-0, improving to 9-0 on the season and 3-0 in conference play.
The Cougars got on the board in the 22
nd minute when
Nathan Durdle connected with
Nick Brandt who headed the ball in to give Columbia the advantage. The score remained 1-0 for the remainder of the half.
In the second half, Columbia continued to attack and at the 57
th minute
Lesia Thetsane was able to find the net to give the Cougars their second goal. Columbia continued their aggressive play with a goal by
Matheus Santos De Albuquerque at the 73
rd minute. The fourth and final goal was made by Thetsane, just five minutes later.
Ryan Harrisskitt and
Carson Linder split time in goal. Harrisskitt recorded three saves, and Linder posted one.
The team will play next on Wednesday, October 2
nd when they travel to Chesterfield, Missouri to take on the Missouri Baptist University Spartans in an AMC contest. The game will kick off at Noon at Parkway Central.
