Cougars Sweep Conference Matches

Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College women's volleyball team secured two wins this evening against Williams Baptist (Ark.) (25-7, 25-10, 25-18) and the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy (Mo.) (25-20, 25-20, 25-17). The Cougars move to 8-1 on the season and 4-0 in AMC action.

Set 1: Columbia 25 | Williams Baptist 7
With a hitting percentage of 0.52, the Cougars held the Eagles to only seven points in the first set.

Set 2: Columbia 25 | Williams Baptist 10
Williams Baptist got on the board first, but Columbia sparked an early 7-0 run to obtain the second set victory.

Set 3: Columbia 25 | Williams Baptist 18
The Cougars started the set with a kill from Sidney Branson. The Eagles fought hard recording six ties throughout the set, but it was not enough to contain the Cougars.

The Cougars and Eutectics were neck and neck throughout the first set, tying it up nine times. A late 5-0 Columbia run allowed the Cougars to secure the first set.

Set 2: Columbia 25 | Opponent 20
The Cougars recorded 18 kills while hitting .438 in the second set. A kill by Cecilia Westfall, assisted be Luisa Ferreira sealed the second set for Columbia.

Set 3: Columbia 25 | Opponent 17
A service error for the Eutectics followed by a service ace by Luisa Ferreira set off a strong 11-0 Cougar run. The Eutectics came within eight, but it was not enough. Columbia secured the third set and the match, 25-17.
