Cougars Win Home Opener

Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College women's basketball team earned their first win of the season today in the Arena of Southwell Complex. The Cougars defeated Benedictine (Kan.), 72-61, and move to 1-0 on the season.

It was all Columbia in the first quarter as they went on an 11-0 run and led by as many as 14 points. The Ravens came within four in the second quarter, but Columbia maintained their lead throughout the rest of the half.

Benedictine came within three mid-way through the third quarter, but the Cougars provided themselves an extra cushion going on a 15-0 run. Columbia came out on top 72-61.
