The Scoring - Game 1
B1- (CC) Carli Buschjost started the Cougars with a single to center, moved to third with back to back bunts by Kacy Bergfeld and Mackenzie Kasarda and plated on a sacrifice fly by Allison Keen to score the first run. (CC- 1, AMU- 0)
B3- (CC) Samantha Myers reached first on a bunt single and scored on a Kacy Bergfeld hit. Bergfeld eventually scored herself on a sacrifice fly. (CC-3, AMU-0)
T5- (AMU) The Gyrenes had one hit that resulted in two runs. (CC-3, AVM-2)
B5- (CC) Avgustina Arbova came out with a triple and scored on the sacrifice fly from Carli Buschjost. Kacy Bergfeld singled up the middle and scored on a Mackenzie Kasarda two-run bomb over center field. (CC-6, AMU-2)
B6- (CC) Jaymi Freeman singled down the left field line and was replaced by Bailley Boyer on the base path. Avgustina Arbova's single to shallow right-center tacked one final run on for Columbia. (CC-7, AMU-2)

The Scoring - Game 2
T3- (CC) Avgustina Arbova doubled to deep right-center and scored on Carli Buschjost's double to deep left-center. (CC-1, BU-0)
B3- (BU) The Wildcats scored two on two hits. (CC-1, BU-2)
T5- (CC) An error and three hits led to three Cougar runs that would put them in the lead for good. (CC-4, BU-2)
T6- (CC) Jaymi Freeman home plate after a single got her on base. (CC-5, BU-2)
T7- (CC) A walk to Carli Buschjost proved costly as she would come around to score on an Allison Keen double. (CC-6. BU-2)

Game 1 Turning Point
Mackenzie Kasarda's two-run homer put the game out of reach and eventually gave Columbia the victory.

Game 2 Turning Point
The Cougars hit .357 in the contest, helping them make up for some defensive miscues.

Game 1 Individual Leaders
Lexi Dickerson (4-1) had seven strike outs, three hits and one walk. Mackenzie Kasarda had three RBIs in the win.

Game 2 Individual Leaders
Kaitlyn Nottelmann (6-0) had two strike outs, zero walks and allowed eight hits while remaining undefeated this season. Allison Keen had two hits, and brought in 3 RBIs.

Up Next
The Cougars are back on the field on Sunday, March 8th when they continue in the Gulf Shore Invitational. They will go up against the Baker University Wildcats at 9:00 a.m. They will also compete against the Martin Methodist (Tenn.) College Hawks at 11:00 a.m. before heading back to Columbia.
