Walnut Ridge, Ark. – The Columbia College men's basketball team grabbed their fourth straight win this evening against Williams Baptist (Ark.), 62-54. The Cougars improve to 10-3 on the season and 4-1 in the American Midwest Conference (AMC).
Senior forward
Jack Fritsche was unstoppable the first six minutes of the game, giving Columbia their first seven points, 7-4. The Cougars produced a 10-0 run against the Eagles, leading 20-6 midway through the half. Columbia picked up their largest lead of the game of 21 points with under five minutes remaining in the period. A 36-19 Cougar advantage brought them into the half. The Cougars shot 38-percent from the field in the opening half.
Columbia held their lead throughout the second half, allowing Williams Baptist to come within five points. With six offensive rebounds and five second chance points by the Cougars, they went on to secure the win, 62-54 over the Eagles.
