St. Louis, Mo. – The No. 19-ranked Columbia College volleyball team picked up a sweep on the road at Harris-Stowe on Thursday evening. The Cougars improve to 23-7 overall and 5-1 in the American Midwest Conference (AMC), while Harris-Stowe falls to 3-11 and 0-6 in league play.
With the win, the Cougars have officially clinched a spot in the AMC postseason tournament, which begins on Nov. 9.

Columbia used a 6-0 run to take a 7-1 lead in the opening set, forcing a Harris-Stowe timeout. After the Hornets cut their deficit to 17-12, the Cougars tallied eight of the final nine points to take the first set.
Set 2: Columbia 25 | Harris-Stowe 14
After a setting error by the Cougars, CC went on a quick 7-1 run to open up a 17-11 lead. The Cougars scored eight of the final nine points to cruise to the win.
Set 3: Columbia 25 | Harris-Stowe 14
The third set saw the Hornets grab the early lead at 4-2 before CC tallied six straight points and took an 8-4 lead. The Cougars would end the match on a 10-2 run and earn the sweep.

The Cougars play their final two regular-season road games on Saturday, Oct. 23, against Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) at 5:00 PM and (10) Central Methodist (Mo.) at 7:00 PM. Both matches will take place at Central Methodist in Fayette, Mo.
