Columbia, Mo. – The No. 22-ranked Columbia College volleyball team picked up a sweep against Stephens (Mo.) on Thursday evening in the Arena of Southwell Complex.
The Cougars are now on a 13-game win streak and are 10-0 at home this season.
Columbia (20-4; 4-0 AMC) vs. Stephens (7-10; 1-3 AMC)
Set 1: Columbia 26 | Stephens 24
The Cougars trailed 18-12 in the opening set before roaring back and tying the set at 20-20. Stephens had set point (24-22), but Columbia rallied off the final four points, capped off by back-to-back kills by Janae Johnson.
Set 2: Columbia 25 | Stephens 12
Columbia held a slight 11-10 lead before running off nine straight points to take a commanding 20-10 lead. After back-to-back kills from Stephens, Columbia scored the final five points to win the set.
Set 3: Columbia 25 | Stephens 17
The Cougars raced out to a 15-9 lead, but the Stars kept battling and climbed back within four points, 20-16. The Cougars, however, would win five-of-the-last-six points of the set.
