St. Louis, Mo. – The American Midwest Conference (AMC) has announced the Player of the Week awards for the week ending on Sunday, Oct. 31.
Women's Volleyball Setter of the Week
Luisa Ferreira
A sophomore from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Ferreira averaged 12.17 assists per set and collected 73 total assists over two games. In the sweep over Lyon (Ark.), she dished out 32 assists and added five service aces. She posted 41 digs in three sets in the win against Central Baptist (Ark.), helping the Cougars to their 1,400-program win.
This is her fourth weekly honor of the season.
Women's Volleyball Attacker of the Week
Ellie Crede
A freshman from Bonnots Mill, Mo., Crede helped the Cougars to a pair of wins after hitting .529 with 21 kills against Lyon and Central Baptist. She sent down 15 kills on 24 attempts against Central Baptist and added six kills on ten attempts in two sets against Lyon.
This is her first weekly honor of the season.
Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Macie Lucas
A freshman from Roxana, Ill., Lucas tallied three goals and added two assists in a pair of AMC wins on the week. Scored both of the Cougar goals in a 2-0 win over Stephens (Mo.). She picked up another goal and two assists in the 5-1 road victory against Missouri Baptist, helping the Cougars to the AMC Regular-Season Title.
This is her first weekly honor of the season.
Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Liam Gibbs
A senior goalkeeper from England, Gibbs earned a shutout in a tie against Missouri Baptist, and he picked up one save in the contest.
This is his third weekly award of the season.
