Kansas City, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) have announced that
Liam Gibbs,
Aaron Fernandez, and
Diego Navia have been selected to the 2021 NAIA Men's Soccer All-America Teams.
Gibbs, a goalkeeper from North Yorkshire, England, earned a spot on the Second-Team after going 15-3-3 in goal this season, making 53 saves, allowing just 12 goals, and picking up 10 shutouts.
Fernandez joined Gibbs on the Second-Team, as the Wimbledon, England-native, anchored one of the best defensives in the nation. The defender helped the team to a 0.59 goals against average and to 11 shutouts. The sophomore added four goals and one assist for nine points on the season.
Navia, a junior midfielder from Guayaquil, Ecuador, earned a spot on the Honorable Mention team. The midfielder was key to the Cougars national semifinal run, locking down the middle of the field. Navia chipped in offensively with three assists on the year.
