Columbia, Mo. – Columbia Cougars volleyball team ended their three-game losing streak with a convincing 3-0 sweep over William Penn (Iowa). Columbia improves to 11-5 overall, while William Penn falls to 17-8.

Set 1: Columbia 25 | William Penn 15
After William Penn tied the set at 10-10, Columbia scored five-straight to lead the set, 15-10. The Statesmen scored the next two-points, before the Cougars answered with 8-of-the-next-9 points to take control of the set.
Set 2: Columbia 25 | William Penn 21
William Penn jumped out to a quick lead in the second set, leading 6-2 and then 9-4. Columbia scored 6-of-9 points to tie it up at 10. The two teams traded points, until Columbia scored four in-a-row to open a 20-17 win. The two teams would match points until the end of the set.
Set 3: Columbia 25 | William Penn 19
The final set once again saw the Statesmen jump out to an early lead at 10-3. Columbia scored six of the next seven points to get within two-points 11-9. After William Penn scored three-of-the-next-four points, Columbia went on a tear, scoring eight-straight and taking a 18-14 advantage. William Penn fought back within two-points (19-17), but Columbia closed the game scoring six-of-eight-points.
