Baseball Splits doubleheader with York (Neb.)

Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College baseball team split a doubleheader on Sunday. Columbia and York (Neb.) played the two games at Hickman High School due to wet field conditions at Atkins Park.

The Scoring - Game 1
T1 – (York) The Panthers scored five runs on two hits. (CC-0, York, 5)
B1 – (CC) The Cougars plated two in the bottom of the first, with RBIs from Kendrick Delima and Dalton Bealmer. (CC-2, York-5)
T2 – (York) An RBI single scored one run for York (CC-2, York-6)
B2 – (CC) Columbia added three more in their half of the second, as Brad Prebay hit a three-run home run (CC-5, York-6) 
T3 – (York) The Panthers saw another run cross the play on a sac fly. (CC-5, York-7)

T4 – (York) The Panthers got on the scoreboard on a two-run homerun (CC-5, York-2)
B4 – (CC) David Dell hit a solo home run to cap off the scoring (CC-6, York-2)
   
Game 1 Individual Leaders
Five Cougars combined for six hits, led by Brad Prebay's two hits. Prebay also knocked in a game-high three runs. 
  
Game 2 Individual Leaders
Mark Haire earned the win tossing six innings allowing just two earned runs and striking out eight. Conner Darnell pitched one shutout inning with one strikeout. The Cougars hit three extra-base hits in the game, all leaving the field for home runs. Justin Randle drove in a game-high three runs.

Columbia will take on Morningside (Iowa) on March 6 and 7 at Atkins Park.
