Batesville, Ark. – The Columbia College women's basketball fell to Lyon (Ark.) in the Championship game of the American Midwest Conference (AMC) tournament. The Scots defeated the Cougars, 66-56.

The Cougars started strong, scoring six of the game's first eight points, but an 8-0 run by Lyon gave them the 12-8 lead. Columbia battled back to within one (12-11) at the end of quarter one. 

The Scots increased their lead to double figures (30-20), with 3:08 remaining in the first half. The Cougars responded with five-straight to cut the deficit down to five (30-25), but Lyon held a 33-27 halftime lead. 

The third quarter saw the Scots push their lead out to 11 at 41-30 with 5:57 left. Mallory Shetley scored two points to trim the Lyon lead down to six (43-37), but the Scots' five-straight points gave them the 11-point advantage heading into the final frame. 

The Scots held a double-digit lead for most of the fourth quarter, including their largest lead of the game at 14 (54-40). A two-point field goal by Abby Backes with 5:48 remaining got Columbia within nine, but that was as close as they would get, as Lyon held on for the 66-56 win.
