Dickerson Tosses a No-Hitter; Cougars Go 2-0

Gulf Shores, Ala. - The Columbia College softball team ended a three-game skid with a pair of wins on Sunday, to close out the Gulf Shores Invitational. 

Final Score Game 1: Columbia 1 | Webber International 0
Final Score Game 2: Columbia 4 | Keiser 3 (8 innings)

The Scoring - Game 1
T1 (CC) – 
Columbia scored in the first inning when Taylor Barnes was hit by a pitch, advanced to second on a stolen base and ended up crossing home plate on an error. (CC-1, WIU-0)

The Scoring - Game 2
T1 (KU) – 
The Seahawks scored twice in the first (CC-0, KU-2)
B2 (CC) – Columbia tied the game on a solo home run by Kaylie Kaufman and an RBI triple from Avgustina Arbova. (CC-2, KU-2)
B4 (CC) – The Cougars took the lead on Avgustina Arbova's RBI double. 
T6 (KU) – Keiser tied the game on an RBI single (CC-3, KU-3)
B8 (CC) – Skyler Kauble hit the walk-off single, scoring Kasarda. (CC-4, KU-3)

Game 1 Individual Leaders
Lexi Dickerson tossed a no-hitter while striking out four. The Cougars picked up nine hits, led by Mackenzie Kasarda's three.  

Game 2 Individual Leaders
Avgustina Arbova led the team with three hits and two RBIs. Alyssa Roll earned the win for Columbia, tossing 3.1 innings, allowing just one run and striking out four.  

Up Next
The Cougars take on Culver-Stockton on Wednesday for the team's home opener. The first pitch is at 2:00 PM.
