St. Louis, Mo. – The No. 3-seeded Columbia Cougars fell to top-seeded Missouri Baptist in a hard-fought championship game of the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Tournament.

Set 1: Missouri Baptist 25, Columbia 22
The Spartans started the first set on a 7-2 run, but Columbia started finding its rhythm and tied the set up at 12-12. The two teams answered point-for-point, but Missouri Baptist scored three of the final four points to take the first set.
Set 2: Missouri Baptist 25, Columbia 20
Columba held a 5-4 lead early in the second set when Missouri Baptist rattled off five-straight to take a 9-5 lead. The Cougars battled back again and tied the set at 17-17. After a timeout by Missouri Baptist, the Spartans responded with five-of-the-next-seven points and ended the set with the final three points.
Set 3: Missouri Baptist 25, Columbia 23
Set three saw the Spartans take a 13-7 lead. The Cougars continued to fight, but Missouri Baptist increased the lead to seven (20-13). Just as it seemed the Spartans were going to run away with the set, the Cougars caught fire and scored eight-of-the-next-ten points and got to within one point (22-21), but the comeback fell just short, as MBU took the set and match.
