Columbia, Mo. --- The Columbia College volleyball team improved to 8-4 on the season with a dominating victory against the Benedictine (Kan.) Ravens.

The Cougars led 10-5 in the first set, after a 5-0 run. Columbia pushed their lead to 14-6, capped off by a
Magdalena Bostal service ace. The Ravens tried to break the Cougar's lead with a 4-0 scoring run, shrinking the Cougar's lead to 17-12, but the Cougars cruised to the win in the opening set.
Set 2: Columbia 25 | Benedictine 18
The Cougars started the second set strong leading the entire set. The Ravens, trailing 18-14, climbed within one point (18-17) with a 3-0 run, but Columbia ran off seven of the last eight points for the set two win.
Set 3: Columbia 25 | Benedictine 13
Columbia came out fired up in the final set, taking six of the first seven points. The Cougars pushed their lead to 14 at 19-5, thanks to a 10-1 run. Benedictine tried to catch up with a 4-1 scoring run late in the set, but a kill by
Sidney Branson sealed the victory.

The Cougars hit the road this weekend as they head to Baldwin, Kansas, to compete in the Baker Invitational for the first time since 2017. The Cougars take on Graceland (Iowa) and Concordia (Neb.) on Friday at 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM, and on Saturday, the team will face Haskell (Kan.) and Saint Mary (Kan.) at 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM.
