Columbia, Mo. – In a rematch of last year's American Midwest Conference (AMC) Men's Basketball Tournament Championship game, the Cougars took down the Mustangs of Central Baptist College (Ark.), 101-65.
With the win, the Cougars move above .500 to 11-10 overall and 5-2 in AMC play. Central Baptist falls to 8-11 and 4-3 in the league.
After CBC started the game with a bucket, the Cougars went on a 16-6 run to take an eight-point lead (16-8). A
Dogukan Kara layup with 13:06 left in the opening half gave CC a double-digit lead (21-10), and Columbia led the rest of the contest by at least 11 points. The Cougars led by as many as 26 in the first half (55-29) after
Cole Gerken drained a three-pointer with six seconds left.
The second half saw the Cougar lead grow to over 30 (74-43) after a
Kemryn Jenkins triple with 12:38 remaining. Another 3-pointer from Gerken with 4:09 left gave CC their largest lead of the game at 38 (93-55). The Cougars cruised to their third-straight double-digit win.

Cameron Vanleer drained back-to-back three-pointers which sparked a 21-8 Cougar run to start the game.
