Pittsburg, Kan. – The Columbia College women's indoor track & field competed for the third time this season, as they traveled to Pittsburg, Kan. to participate in the NAIA/JUCO Invitational. 
 
The Cougars finished with 42 points and placed 5th out of 19 scoring teams. Kyla Bertschinger led the Cougars with 10 points as she scored in two events. Nicole Emmons racked up nine points, and Peri Welch scored eight. 
 
Bertschinger competed in two events, scoring in both, as she placed second in the one-mile run (5:29.18) and 7th in the 800-meter run (2:30.29). She set a new personal record in both events, beating out her old time in the one-mile run by over 20 seconds and six seconds in the 800-meter run.
 
Emmons placed third in the shot put with a mark of 11.27-meters, a new personal record. In addition, she tossed 12.70-meters in the weight throw and finished 6th. 
 
The 3000-meter run was a big event for CC as all three runners scored, led by Peri Welch, who placed second (eight points). Jada O'Donnell was right behind in third place (six points), and Megan Korte placed eighth (one point). 
 
The Cougars set nine additional personal records in the meet – Evelyn Roland in the weight throw (9.53-meters), Gracie Schultz in the 60-meter dash (8.43), Hadley Sanders in the 200-meter dash (29.29), and 600-meter run (1:52.27), Halie Moeller in the 600-meter run (1:44.80), Daylin Huebotter in the 800-meter run (2:40.25), Emma Homfeldt in the one-mile run (5:45.71), Peri Welch in the 3000-meter run (10:53.77), and Jada O'Donnell in the 3000-meter run (11:03.90). 
 
Makenzie Schwartz (60-meter hurdles, 9.89 and 200-meter dash, 28.44) and Halie Moeller (200-meter dash, 29.14) set season-bests in their events.
