La Crosse, Wisconsin - The Columbia College volleyball team wrapped up play today in the 2022 Days Inn Classic on the campus of Viterbo University. After going 0-2 yesterday, the Cougars swept both matches today, improving their overall record to 18-9. The Cougars now look to their next contest when they host AMC-rival and current No.4-ranked Missouri Baptist University. Columbia swept their last meeting with the Spartans earlier this season in non-conference play.
Columbia defeated (RV) University of Saint Francis, 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-18)
The Cougars led in kills (39-32), aces (7-4), and digs (61-58), while USF out-blocked Columbia 13-5.
Allana Capella led the way with 12 kills while
Ellie Rockers contributed 10 kills and six digs.
Luisa Ferreira dished out 33 assists to go along with 11 digs, and
Magdalena Bostal finished with a team-high 16 digs.
Columbia defeated St. Francis University, 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-13)
Columbia dominated almost every category against SFU. The Cougars led in kills (44-20), aces (8-2), and digs (48-41), while both teams finished with four blocks, respectively.
Abby Massengill hit a blistering .563% on 10 kills to go along with three blocks.
Luciana Paiva followed with nine kills on .500 hitting.
Luisa Ferreira averaged 12 assists per set as she finished with 36 assists and 10 digs.
Magdalena Bostal picked up 10 digs in the libero jersey.
