Joey Spotanski scored a pair of goals to help lead the No. 19-ranked Columbia College men's soccer team to a 5-1 Senior Day victory over Williams Woods University Saturday at R. Marvin Owens Field.

Columbia won its fifth-straight game to improve to 9-3-3 (5-1 AMC), while William Woods lost its third-straight contest and fell to 2-8-3 (0-4-1 AMC). The Cougars remain in second place in the AMC standings with 15 points.
Spotanski gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead when he scored off a give and go from
Anthony Hyde and Totty in the sixth minute. William Woods nearly tied the game in the 16th minute when Florian Senst snuck through the Cougar defense for a breakaway but Gibbs made a point blank save.
Spotanski did it again in the 22nd minute when he finished a cross from Navia to make it 2-0. The two tallies upped his career total to 28.
In the 43rd minute,
Steven Marion scored on a give-and-go by
Ethan Blake to make it 3-0. Columbia outshot William Woods 10-6 in the first half with seven shots on frame.
In the 60th minute, Navia nearly made it 4-0 when hit shot from inside the box deflected off the crossbar and then Totty's second-chance went over the frame.
Nathan Durdle scored in the 72nd minute and Blake found the back of the net in the 75th minute to round out the scoring.
Columbia outshot William Woods 20-9 and had a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks. Gibbs made two saves and picked up his 28th career win in goal.
The Cougars are 7-1-1 at home this season and won its sixth-straight contest against William Woods.
The Cougars open a two-game road trip to close out the regular season at Harris-Stowe State University on Tuesday, October 25 at 3 p.m.
