Cougars Dominate Hornets on Senior Day

Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College men's basketball team made it to triple digits in their victory over Harris-Stowe (Mo.) on senior day, 105-67.
 
Columbia advances to 16-11 overall and 10-3 in the American Midwest Conference (AMC). Harris-Stowe drops to 2-21 this season and 1-13 in conference play.

Prior to the game, the Columbia College Athletics Department and men's basketball team honored three seniors - Chima Oduocha, Kemryn Jenkins, and Chandler Sartain.  

The Cougars got on top first, and a jump shot by Carson Parker gave Columbia an eight-point advantage with 14:53 remaining, 13-5. Columbia went on a 9-0 run, leading to a 21-point advantage, 36-15. The Cougars held a 51-30 favor over the Hornets going into the half.
 
Two minutes into the final half, Columbia scored ten consecutive points to increase their lead to 28, 62-34. The Cougars continued their dominance, taking their largest lead of the game of 44 with 2:45 remaining in the contest, 103-59. A 105-67 advantage would conclude the game.
 
 Key Moment:
 A 9-0 Cougar run starting with a bucket from Collin Parker would give Columbia momentum to secure a 105-67 edge over the Hornets.

40-26 – Columbia outscored Harris-Stowe by 14 points in the paint
18-7 – The Cougars handed out 18 assists compared to the Hornets seven
54-38 – Columbia grabbed 16 more rebounds than the Hornets
