Softball Goes 1-1 on Day Two of the NAIA Winter Invitational

Allen, Texas – The No. 6-ranked Columbia College softball team split a doubleheader on day two of the NAIA Winter Invitational.
 
The Cougars are now 2-2 on the season.
 
Game 1: (2) Science & Arts def. (6) Columbia, 8-0 (5 innings)
The Scoring:
  • B1 (USAO) – The Drovers scored an unearned run (USAO 1, CC 0)
  • B3 (USAO) – USAO added two runs on a single and another on a single (USAO 4, CC 0)
  • B4 (USAO) – A Cougar error led to a pair of USAO runs (USAO 6, CC 0)
  • B5 (USAO – The Drovers hit two solo home runs (USAO 8, CC 0)
Individual Leaders:  
Game 2: (6) Columbia 10 def. Bellevue 2 (6 innings)
The Scoring:
  • T1 (CC) – The Cougars started off hot, scoring four runs in the top of the first. Mackenzie Kasarda drilled a two-run home run, while Athena Wheeler knocked in two with a double. (CC 4, BU 0)
  • B3 (BU) – An RBI double got the Bruins on the board
  • T4 (CC) – Avgustina Arbova hit a solo home run (CC 5, BU 1)
  • T5 (CC) – Jacey Meyer hit a three-run home run (CC 8, BU 1)
  • B5 (BU) – The Bruins scored one run on a single (CC 8, BU 2)
  • T6 (CC) – Abigail Pringer singled home Taylor Barnes and later scored on an Emily King ground out. (CC 10, BU 2)
