Walnut Ridge, Ark. - The Columbia College men's soccer team was on the road today in the championship game of the AMC Men's Soccer Tournament. Taking on the Eagles of Williams Baptist University in the championship game for the second year in a row, the Cougars played through an aggressive contest to earn the 2-1 win.
Columbia improved to 12-4-4, their 15th consecutive season with double-digit wins.
With the win, the Cougars have earned an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship First & Second Round. They now look to the NAIA Selection Show on Monday, November 13th, to find out their destination.
The Eagles got on the board first with their lone goal coming in the 36th minutes.
Just before the half, a red card was issued to WBU player Jacob Doehmen, allowing the Cougars to play the remainder of the match a man-up.
Luke Hynes scored the equalizer for the Cougars in the 49th minute with his fourth goal of the season.

Carter Redford who was able to convert and give Columbia the 2-1 lead at the 60-minute mark.
From there, it was a back and forth game with both teams having good looks on goal.
As time expired,
Alejandro Molto Munoz made three consecutive saves to secure the win.
NOTES...this is Columbia College's 12th tournament championship...the Cougars have won the regular season 12 times...
