COLUMBIA, Mo. - The 5th-ranked Columbia College women's soccer team secured a 4-0 victory in their semifinal matchup against Missouri Baptist this evening.
Jewel Morelan scored her fifth goal of the season four minutes into the contest, assisted by
Abigail Logan-Ritz.
Columbia's
Macie Lucas earned a hat trick on the night, producing goals in the 14th-minute, 52nd-minute, and 62nd-minute.
The Cougars led 2-0 heading into the locker room, as
Macie Lucas found the back of the net, assisted by
Riley Porter.
In the 52nd-minute,
Isabella Govero and
Juana Wulff found
Macie Lucas for her second goal of the match, putting Columbia on top, 3-0.
To top it off,
Macie Lucas earned her hat trick with another assist from
Riley Porter in the 62-minute. The goal marked Lucas' 15th of the season.
The Cougars took 17 shots on the night, while the Spartans had three shots.
With the win, Columbia improves to 16-1-1 on the season, and advance to the AMC Women's Soccer Finals against William Woods (Mo.).
The Cougars are set to host the AMC Championship game on November 9 at 6:00 p.m.Â
