Dominant Second Half Powers Cougars Past Braves To Championship Title

St. Louis, Mo. - The Columbia College Cougars continued their post-season run today as they took on the nationally ranked #10 Braves of Ottawa University in the championship game of the KCAC tournament. Looking to avenge an early season loss to the Braves, the Cougars used an 11-4 second half scoring advantage to overcome a six-goal deficit and claim the win.

Columbia trailed 2-4 after the first quarter of play and then again at the half, 4-10. Both teams scored four times in the third quarter. Heading into the fourth and final quarter Columbia trailed Ottawa 8-14. The Cougars scored six unanswered goals to tie the score at 14-14 with under two minutes to play. Ethan Houston scored off of a pass from Tyler Parrott to give Columbia the lead, 15-14, with 1:42 left to play. The Braves had a chance to tie it but their shot was blocked, giving the Cougars the win.
