Columbia, Mo. - It was a tale of two halves tonight as the Columbia College Cougars played host to the Statesmen of William Penn University. The Cougars started fast as they led 5-2 at the end of the first and then 9-5 at the half. Columbia's defense dug in deep in the second half as WPU had 29 of their 44 shots in the third and fourth quarters alone.

With the momentum on the Statesmen side, they scored six unanswered goals in a row to tie the game at 9-9. With 90-seconds to play, the Cougars came up with a huge defensive stop to force a turnover and regain possession. Out of a CC timeout, Tyler Parrott converted on an offensive buildup to give the Cougars the late 10-9 lead. With one more chance on offense, the Statesmen gave up another turnover as time expired to secure the win for the Cougars. The win puts Columbia 5-3 on the season while dropped WPU to 9-5.
