Columbia, Mo. - The Columbia College men's soccer team played to a draw against the Spartans of Missouri Baptist University today in a tough conference matchup.
Both teams had strong offensive efforts throughout the match, with the Cougars out-shooting the Spartans 15-8.
The tie marks the second consecutive conference tie for Columbia, who moves to 8-2-4 overall and 3-0-2 in conference play.
Missouri Baptist scored first as Ognjen Bozovic scored his fourth goal of the season off of a pass from Jack Ridley in the 58th-minute.
As time was expiring, it seemed that Missouri Baptist was going to pull of the upset until
Lars Ly was pulled down in the box, earning Columbia a penalty kick with just nineteen seconds left to play.

Carter Redford buried his fourth goal of the season to level the score, 1-1, and earn the tie for Columbia.
Alejandro Molto Munoz moved to 7-2-4 in goal with the tie.
