COLUMBIA, Mo. - For the tenth-consecutive season, the Columbia College women's soccer team captured their eleventh overall American Midwest Conference (AMC) Tournament title. Since the program's inception, Columbia has proven a 95-2-2 record on their home field in AMC play.
The Cougars improve to 17-1-1 on the year.
No. 1-seeded Columbia shutout No. 2-seeded Missouri Baptist by a final of 1-0.
Madeleine Shylanski netted the only goal of the contest nearing the 16th minute of action, assisted by
Macie Lucas.
While only one goal found the back of the net, Columbia had a host of opportunities.
In the first half, the Cougars outshot the Spartans 13-2. Overall, Columbia produced 22 shots to Missouri Baptist's four.Â
Additionally, the Cougars took 11 corner kicks, holding the Spartans to zero.
Natalie Allison made one save on the night in goal through 90 minutes of play.
With the win, Columbia earns an automatic bid into the into the NAIA Women's Soccer Championships. The NAIA Selection Show will take place on November 16 at 1:00 p.m.
