Harrison Vickers scored a season-high 20 points on six three-pointers but it was not enough as the Columbia College men's basketball team suffered a 103-74 loss to Dordt University in the opening round of the 2024 Hampton Inn Thanksgiving Classic Tuesday at the Arena of Southwell Complex.

Dordt remained undefeated with the win at 9-0, while Columbia had its four-game win streak snapped and fell to 4-3.

The Cougars host Bellevue University on Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the final game of the 2024 Hampton Inn Thanksgiving Classic. Bellevue improved to 6-2 with a 58-52 win over Hannibal-LaGrange University on Tuesday.

Collin Parker added 15 points and six rebounds in the loss, and moved into fourth place on the all-time scoring list with 1,601 points.

Ben Fairclough scored eight of the first 10 points for Dordt as they led 10-4 in the opening 4:10. The Cougars hit four-straight shots and a three by Vickers trimmed the lead to 17-16.

Dordt answered with a 7-0 run to push the advantage to 26-18, and the lead to grew to double figures (33-22) on a three-pointer by Bryce Coppock.Â

Dordt led 47-34 at halftime after shooting 47.4 percent (18-38) from the field. Fairclough led all scorers with 14 points.

Parker and Vickers combined to score all 12 points to open the second half as the Cougars cut the lead to 52-48. After a three-pointer by
Kai Steinman, Dordt scored seven-straight points to get the lead back to double figures (66-53) with 12:11 left.

Dordt went on a 17-0 run to the put the game out of reach at 85-57.

Lucas Lorenzen led Dordt with a game-high 26 points and 10 rebounds, while Connor Millikan (19), Coppock (14), Fairclough (14) and Jake Hargens (10) also scored in double figures. Dordt shot 54.7 percent (41-75) from the field in the win and had a 20-10 advantage in points off turnovers.

NOTES:Â Columbia and Dordt have split two all-time meetings ... Dordt entered the ranked eighth in NAIA in FG percentage (54.6) and 11th in scoring (94.0).
