COLUMBIA, Mo. - The No.15 Columbia College men's soccer team opened American Midwest Conference (AMC) play with a 5-0 shutout against Hannibal-LaGrange University (Mo.) this afternoon.
The Cougars improve to 5-1-2 on the season and 1-0 in AMC action.
Columbia controlled the contest from the jump, as
Nedim Sarajlija netted the first goal in the opening possession of play.
Joshua Peterson also found the back of the net, securing a 2-0 lead into halftime.
In the match, Columbia outshot Hannibal-LaGrange 21-6.
Brady Freeman struck the first goal of the second half in the 53rd minute, followed by goals from
Josh Sutton and
Cooper Hayes.
Alejandro Molto Munoz got the start for the Cougars in goal, making one save.
Caden Hof finished the contest in goal.
