Logan Named Assistant Softball Coach

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Former Cougar alum ('12, '18) Jordan Logan is joining the Columbia College softball staff as an assistant coach.

Logan made her way back to Columbia College after serving as an assistant coach at William Woods University (Mo.) (2022-24), Evangel University (Mo.) (2019-22), Missouri Valley College (2018-19), and Hickman High School (2012-14, 2018-20).

"I would like to thank Coach Wendy Spratt and Athletic Director James Arnold for this amazing opportunity," Logan said. "Cecilia Aherns says it best, 'Home isn't a place, it's a feeling.' My place is with Coach Spratt and Coach Jameson; it always has been. This is a full circle moment; playing for Coach Spratt, experiencing and growing as a young coach under her leadership, and finally coming home where it all began is the road less traveled, but it was fate."

Logan continued, "Coach Spratt's loyalty, commitment, and dedication not only to my career in this sport, but also my growth as mother and individual, has been steadfast and unwavering since I became a Cougar in 2011."

Logan played one season for the Cougars, producing a 1.13 ERA in the circle, while also achieving First Team All-Conference honors. Prior to playing at Columbia, she attended NJCAA Jefferson College (Mo.) as a two-time NJCAA Region 16 All-Region First Team honoree.

"I am extremely excited to add Jordan Logan to our softball staff," Wendy Spratt said. "She is one of the most knowledgeable pitching coaches in the nation. Her passion for the game is unparalleled!"

From 2016-18, Logan served as pitching coach and graduate assistant at Columbia College. The Cougars claimed back-to-back American Midwest Conference (AMC) tournament titles, making two trips to NAIA World Series. Logan helped lead the pitching staff to an impressive 1.43 ERA in 2017, finishing fourth at the NAIA World Series. In the 2018 campaign, the Cougars posted their best season in program history, claiming the runner-up spot at the NAIA World Series.

Logan graduated from North Callaway High School in Kingdom City, Mo. She is a 2022 Missouri Sports Hall of Fame inductee and was named 2016-17 Women's Intersport Network "Mentor of the Year."

"I will never be able to give back as much as softball has given me. I am so honored to be a part of this game," Logan added. "I am ready to bring the fire and passion!"
