Pardalos Leads Cougars in Dominate Win over Williams Baptist on Senior Day

COLUMBIA, MO- The Columbia College women's soccer team delivered a commanding performance to defeat Williams Baptist University 6-0 this evening at R. Marvin Owens Field, improving to 9-4-2 on the season and 4-0-1 in conference play. The victory snapped Williams Baptist's five-game winning streak, the longest in program history.

Columbia took time to recognize their seniors before the match, with Hannah Shylanski, Madeleine Shylanski, Izzy Cole, Cassidy Head, Reagen Berra, Jillian Nelson, and Kourtney Blatz.

The Cougars wasted no time establishing control, with Hannah Shylanski opening the scoring in the 11th minute off an assist from Madeleine Shylanski for her seventh goal of the season. Columbia continued to apply pressure, and Georgia Pardalos doubled the lead in the 17th minute, also assisted by Madeleine Shylanski, marking her ninth goal of the campaign.

Pardalos extended the advantage to 3-0 in the 35th minute, completing her first-half hat trick with another assist from Madeleine Shylanski, who recorded three assists in the opening period alone.

The Cougars maintained their dominance after halftime. Renata Mendez added to the scoring in the 47th minute with an unassisted goal for her second of the season. Pardalos completed her hat trick and recorded her 11th goal of the season with a penalty kick in the 61st minute, pushing the lead to 5-0.

Peyton Lee capped the scoring with her first goal of the season in the 87th minute, assisted by Delaynie Brown, securing the 6-0 final.

Goalkeeper Natalie Allison had a relatively quiet evening, making two saves to record her ninth shutout of the season and improve to 9-4-2 on the year. The Cougars' defense was especially impressive in containing Williams Baptist's prolific scorer Yajaira Alvarado, holding her scoreless despite entering the match as the American Midwest Conference's leading goal scorer with 22 goals on the season—a total that ranks second in the NAIA and makes her the career leader in goals scored at WBU. The Cougars dominated possession and shots, outshooting Williams Baptist 17-3, with 12 shots on goal compared to the Eagles' two.

Pardalos led the offensive effort with three goals, while Madeleine Shylanski orchestrated the attack with three assists.
