Women's Soccer Falls to No. 13 Cumberlands in NAIA Tournament Second Round

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – Columbia College women's soccer saw their season end Saturday afternoon with a 2-0 loss to No. 13 University of the Cumberlands at UC Lacrosse/Soccer Complex. The Cougars finish their campaign at 12-5-2 overall and 5-0-1 in conference play.

The Cougars battled through a competitive first half, with goalkeeper Natalie Allison making two crucial saves to keep the match scoreless. Columbia managed two shots in the opening period while defending against constant pressure from the Patriots.

Despite the team's best efforts, Cumberlands broke through in the 55th minute when Abigail Little found the net. The Cougars continued to fight and created opportunities, including a corner kick in the 57th minute, but couldn't find the equalizer. The Patriots added a second goal in the 70th minute to put the game out of reach.

Madeleine Shylanski led Columbia's offensive attack with three shots. Macie Vincent added a shot on goal in the second half as the Cougars pressed for a response. Allison finished with three saves, standing strong between the posts despite facing 15 total shots.
