COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Columbia College softball team opened American Midwest Conference (AMC) play, shutting out the Hornets of Harris-Stowe State University (Mo.). The Cougars took game one, 8-0 (6 inn.), and game two, 13-0 (5 inn.).
Columbia improves to 11-7 on the season and 2-0 in the AMC.

- Columbia saw their first runs of the game in the fourth inning, as two runners advanced home on a caught foul ball
- Sophia Angel contributed her first home run of the season on an inside the park home run, driving in three RBI

- Abigail Zismer and Madyson Wear each went 3-for-4
- Columbia added 11 hits in the contest
