McGinnis and Renn Earn All-American Honors

Columbia, Mo. - After a record breaking season, the Cougar baseball team saw two players receive All-American honors in the post season.

On Wednesday, the NAIA announced its All-American teams in coordination with the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). The First and Second teams are recognized as ABCA/Rawlings All-Americans by the American Baseball Coaches Association and Rawlings Sporting Goods. The ABCA began recognizing All-Americans in 1949 and named the first ABCA NAIA All-America team in 1969. Starting in the 2024 season, the NAIA started recognizing Third-Team All-Americans.

Brayden McGinnis was named as a First-Team All American, while Tyler Renn was named as a Third-Team All American.

The American Midwest Conference player of the year, McGinnis had a stellar 2025 campaign as he led the conference with a .466 batter average while also totaling 81 RBI. He was second in the AMC with 20 home runs, and he led the Cougars with 83 hits and 23 doubles. Aside from earning All-American honors, McGinnis also solidified himself in the record books as he became the all-time home runs leader in Cougar baseball history with 51 total.

Renn, a First-Team All Conference player, was third in the AMC with a .410 batting average, a .775 slugging percentage, and a .493 on-base percentage. He added 73 hits, 18 doubles, and 15 home runs.
