Columbia, Mo. - Columbia College volleyball ended play in St. Louis with straight set victory over UHSP (25-20, 25-15, 25-22) on Tuesday night. The Cougars move to 7-11 overall and 6-1 in AMC play.
The Cougars dominated from the service line and at the net, hitting .220 as a team and holding UHSP to .079. The Cougars recorded six aces and 12 total blocks in the match.
Viola Giangreco continued to be a contributing factor for the Cougar offense recording eight kills.
Kenedi Canty and
Nazarena Avila added to the attack with seven and six kills respectively. The middle blockers were efficient throughout the match each hitting .500.
Mila Zoric added six kills hitting an impressive .462 and contributing three block assists.
Setters
Alexa Olson and
Hannah Vogt continued to run the offense with combined assists of 35.
The Cougars controlled the tempo of the game, building momentum as the match progressed with hitting percentages of .114, .241, and .294 across all three frames.
Cougar volleyball will return to Columbia on Thursday, Oct. 2nd at 6:00 p.m. for a non-conference game against Culver-Stockton.
