McPherson, Kansas - The Columbia College volleyball team wrapped up play today in Kansas with two matches in the McPherson College Tournament.
After taking Bethel to four sets, the Cougars were swept by McPherson in the evening match.
Columbia returns home for a tri-match on Tuesday, September 9th with matches against Ottawa University and Central Methodist University.
Game 1: Bethel 3, Columbia 1
Set Scores: 25-17, 17-25, 25-22, 25-17
Columbia showed fight in the second set, evening the match at 1-1 with a dominant 25-17 victory. However, Bethel controlled the other three sets to claim the victory.
The Cougars struggled offensively, hitting just .102 as a team compared to Bethel's .186 attack percentage.
Game 2: McPherson 3, Columbia 0
Set Scores: 25-19, 25-15, 25-11
The host McPherson Bulldogs proved too strong, sweeping Columbia in straight sets. The Cougars' offensive struggles continued as they managed just a .031 hitting percentage while McPherson hit an impressive .319.
