Pardalos, Bredensteiner Power Cougars Past Williams Baptist, 9-0

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. - The No. 17-ranked Columbia College women's soccer team improved to 9-1-3 overall and 3-0-0 in American Midwest Conference (AMC) play with a 9-0 road win over Williams Baptist (7-4-1, 1-1-1 AMC) on Tuesday afternoon at WBU Soccer Field. Georgia Pardalos scored four goals and added two assists, Ella Bredensteiner recorded a hat trick, and goalkeeper Charlie Williams stopped the only shot on goal she faced as the Cougars posted their fifth consecutive clean sheet.

Bredensteiner opened the scoring in the eighth minute off an assist from Pardalos. Pardalos set up Ayanna Clarke in the 30th minute for Clarke's third goal of the season, and the Cougars then struck three times in less than five minutes before halftime. Bredensteiner pounced on a rebound after Eagles goalkeeper Lisa Craig stopped a Pardalos shot in the 34th minute, Pardalos scored unassisted in the 35th, and she added another in the 39th off a feed from Clarke to send Columbia into the break up 5-0.

Pardalos completed her hat trick just over two minutes into the second half with an unassisted goal in the 48th minute. Bredensteiner finished off her own hat trick in the 62nd minute on an assist from Brooke Williams, and Brooke Williams set up Pardalos just over a minute later for her fourth goal of the day and 20th of the season. Grace Moresi capped the scoring in the 78th minute with her first goal of the season, assisted by Madison Lieberoff and Macie Vincent.

Pardalos' 10-point performance ties Kelsey Mirts' 10 points against Ottawa in 2019 for the second-most points in a single game in program history, trailing only Pardalos' own 14-point outing in the Cougars' 19-0 win at UHSP on Oct. 3. Her four goals also tie for the second-most in a single game, a mark she also reached at UHSP. Pardalos now has 20 goals and 54 points this season. Her goal total ranks sixth on Columbia's single-season list, passing Mirts' 19 from 2017. Her point total ranks seventh, passing Mirts' 49 from 2017, and she is two points shy of Mirts' 56 from 2019. Bredensteiner's three goals pushed her season total to 15, tying for 10th on the program's single-season goals list.

Columbia outshot Williams Baptist 28-4, including a 14-1 edge in shots on goal, and held a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks. The Cougars have not allowed a goal since Sept. 14 against Science and Arts and have outscored their three AMC opponents 32-0.

The Cougars return home Saturday, Oct. 17, to host Mission University in AMC action at R. Marvin Owens Field. Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m.
