Cougars Top Stars, Pardalos Breaks Season Records

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Georgia Pardalos scored four goals and broke the school's single-season points record as No. 16 Columbia College beat Stephens 7-1 in an American Midwest Conference match Tuesday night at Battle High School. The Cougars improved to 11-1-3 overall and 5-0-0 in the AMC.

Columbia scored in the second minute when Brooke Williams finished a feed from Ella Bredensteiner. Pardalos doubled the lead in the 34th minute off an assist from Rowyn Blanke, and the Cougars outshot Stephens 11-2 in the first half to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Pardalos took over early in the second half, scoring in the 49th and 53rd minutes to complete her hat trick. She added her fourth goal in the 59th minute off an assist from Ava Lunders, giving her three goals in less than 10 minutes. Bredensteiner scored her 16th goal of the season in the 67th minute on an assist from Grace Moresi, and Blanke made it 7-0 a minute later on an assist from Bleda Beto. Stephens scored its only goal on a penalty kick in the 73rd minute.

Pardalos' eight points raised her season total to 78, breaking the school record of 70 set by Stephanie Hale in 2013. Her 30 goals extend the single-season record she set earlier this season. She also moved into a tie for fourth in single-season shots on goal (51) and a tie for eighth in single-season shots (82), and she stays sixth all-time in career goals (44) and career points (112).

Columbia outshot Stephens 23-8, including 14-4 on goal. Charlie Williams played the full 90 minutes in goal and made three saves.

The Cougars travel to St. Louis to face Harris-Stowe State in an AMC match on Saturday, Oct. 24, with kickoff at 1:00 p.m.
