Men's Basketball Season Recap

Columbia, Mo. - The No. 15-ranked Columbia College men's basketball team concluded the 2025-26 season with an overall record of 29-4, including an impressive 13-1 mark in American Midwest Conference (AMC) play. The Cougars clinched the outright regular-season AMC championship for the 16th time in program history. In the conference tournament, Columbia claimed the title for the first time since the 2022-23 season (13th title overall) after beating No. 3 seeded Williams Baptist University (Ark.). This season, the Cougars averaged 80.8 ppg and limited opponents to 66.5 ppg, making for a +14.4 scoring margin. 

Season Highlights & Records

  • The team scored a program second-best for points in a game against Central Christian College of the Bible with 134 on 10/23/2025
  • The team tied for tenth-most field goals made in a single season (923)
  • Columbia set a program record for three-point field goal attempts (878) and ranked sixth all-time for three-point field goals made (287)
  • AJ Walker moved to tenth all-time for assists in a single season (117)
  • Walker also ranked top three all-time in single-season free throw percentage, shooting .880 (minimum 80 attempts)
  • Jemeal Goines recorded the second-most rebounds in a single season in program history with 308
  • Goines also ranked fourth all-time in single season rebounding average (9.60)
  • Johnny Anderson earned a spot in the record books, ranking eighth all-time in single-season rebounding average with 7.90
  • Caleb Jones tied for second-most steals in an individual game with eight against Mission on 02/12/2026
  • Jones is now ranked third all-time for steals in a season (76)

Postseason Performance

  • AMC Tournament Results 
    • Quarterfinals: Defeated No. 8 seeded University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy (UHSP), 98-55
    • Semifinals: Defeated No. 4 seeded Central Baptist College (Ark.), 78-67

    • First Round: Defeated No. 13 seeded McPherson College (Kan.), 74-72 (OT)
