Mattis and Hobbs Lead Cougars in HAAC Awards

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) has announced its 2026 Men's Lacrosse Postseason Award winners and All-Conference lists, with all award winners selected by the Heart head coaches. Columbia placed three players on the All-Conference teams, with Clive Hobbs earning First Team honors on defense, Kail Mattis named the First Team Face-Off Specialist, and Bryce Peltier landing on the Second Team at goalie.

First Team All-Conference

Clive Hobbs – There may not be a more physical presence in the Heart than Hobbs. The defender played in all 16 games and made life difficult for opposing offenses all season long, racking up a team-high 43 caused turnovers and 56 ground balls.

Kail Mattis – Mattis built his case at the face-off dot and made it all season as the First Team Face-Off Specialist. He won 183 of 386 draws — a .474 clip — and turned possession into opportunity for the Cougars time and again. Mattis finished with three goals, three assists, and a team-high 93 ground balls.

Second Team All-Conference

Bryce Peltier – Peltier had a busy season in net starting all 12 of his appearances, Peltier logged nearly 583 minutes in goal and turned aside 133 shots on his way to a 7-4 record. His ability to keep the Cougars in games made him one of the more reliable goalies in the Heart.
