Lacrosse End of Season Recap

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Columbia College men's lacrosse closed out the 2026 season with an overall record of 11-6 and a 7-2 finish in the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC). Head coach Billy Dineen completed his second season at the helm.
Season Milestones
  • The Cougars advanced to the semifinal round of the HAAC tournament, before falling to No. 2-seeded William Penn
  • Senior goalie Bryce Peltier earned NAIA Defensive Player of the Week honors (Feb. 16)
  • The Cougars saw two top-ten wins this season, the first being over No. 10 Lawrence Tech (Mich.) and the second over No. 8 Webber International (Fla.)
  • Kai Garriock tied the program record for goals in a single game, scoring eight against Midland University on 03/14/26
  • Brock Pleis ranks first and second all-time for goals in an individual season with 43 in 2025 and 42 in 2026 
  • Nico Andrews tied his own previous record for assists in an individual game with seven against Missouri Valley on 04/18/26
  • Andrews also ranks third all-time for career assists with 59
  • Kail Mattis broke his previous record for single season ground balls with 93
  • Mattis also became the all-time leader for career ground balls with 246 and individual career face-off wins, 551
  • Clive Hobbs found himself on the all-time list taking over at number one for caused turnovers in a single game (10) and individual season caused turnovers (43)

  • Bryce Peltier - Second Team All-Conference, Goalie
  • Bryce Peltier - NAIA Defensive Player of the Week & HAAC Defensive Player of the Week (Feb. 16)
  • Brock Pleis - HAAC Offensive Player of the Week (Feb. 16)

HAAC Tournament Results
  • Defeated No. 6-seeded Missouri Baptist University, 19-7
  • Fell to No. 2-seeded William Penn University (Iowa), 6-12
