Craig "Boomer" McAndrews

Craig McAndrews was named as the associate head coach for the Columbia College baseball team fall of 2022. Prior to that, he spent six seasons as the assistant coach for the Cougars.
 
Prior to joining the staff at Columbia, McAndrews spent the past ten years at William Woods University. He took over the William Woods University Baseball program in the fall of 2015 and led the Owls to a 28-24 record in his one season as head coach. Before becoming head coach at William Woods he spent ten years as an assistant under current Columbia Head Coach Darren Munns.  
 
Craig joined the William Woods staff in 2006 after a successful playing career as a pitcher at Harris-Stowe State University, where he was coached by Darren Munns, and as a pitcher/catcher for Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa. He served as team captain for Harris-Stowe State University and helped lead the Hornets to their first AMC post-season tournament appearance and a school record 34 wins during the 2005 campaign.   
 
In the summers, McAndrews serves as Head Coach for the Sedalia Bombers in the MINK League. Now in his 13th season coaching the Bombers, Craig has been a part of four league championship teams. McAndrews plays a major role in recruiting players for the prestigious wood bat collegiate summer league. His duties also include planning daily practice and game operations, coordinating travel, and serving as third base coach.

In the summer of 2023, he served as the hitting coordinator in the P3 League (Premier Pitching Performance) in St. Louis.

McAndrews is a South Omaha native and graduate of Omaha South High School in 2002. He is a 2007 graduate of William Woods University, earning a bachelor's degree in sports management as well as a master's degree in athletic/activities administration from William Woods University in the fall of 2009.  
 
Craig currently resides in Columbia with his wife Kayla, who is a 2005 Columbia College alumna, and son Cal.
