Makiah Wade joined Columbia College in 2025 as an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach. Wade spent the 2024–2025 season as a Graduate Assistant at Oklahoma Wesleyan University, where he contributed to a historic season that included an NAIA National Championship Runner-Up finish, a 28–8 overall record, a #2 national ranking, and the program’s fourth consecutive KCAC Conference Championship. He played a vital role in varsity game planning, opponent scouting, and strategy preparation, while helping coach two First Team All-Americans.
A native of Wichita, Kansas, Wade competed at Oklahoma Wesleyan from 2021–2024, helping lead the Eagles to a combined 119–18 record, four straight conference championships, and multiple national tournament appearances. He began his collegiate career at Butler Community College in 2019–2020.
In addition to his collegiate coaching, Wade helped elevate Team One of Us into a top-three AAU program in the Midwest through competitive success, culture development, and leadership consistency. Passionate about developing players on and off the court, Wade views coaching as both a profession and a ministry, investing in the growth of each student-athlete.
