Nathan Mason enters her first season as the Columbia College Men's Soccer Head Coach Fall 2025.

Nathan has been involved in soccer in the local community for many years now, "I want to thank Cindy Potter and the hiring committee for the opportunity. Columbia College Men's Soccer is something I have always wanted to be a part of, and it is a privilege to be named head coach. I have been involved in the Columbia soccer community at all levels for 17 years and know that Columbia and Columbia College are special places."

Mason most recently served as a Technical Coordinator for Sporting Columbia Soccer Club, where he also served as a Head Coach and Youth Director. There, he trained high school area players, managed and supervised coaches within the club, providing education and feedback to help them manage their team.

Before Sporting Columbia, Mason served as the Head Coach of the men's soccer team at William Woods University from 2008-2021. During the 2017 season, WWU went undefeated in conference play as Mason was named AMC Coach of the Year. After winning the AMC regular season, the Owls made an appearance in the NAIA National Tournament. He ended his time at WWU as the winningest coach with 131 career wins.

"We are thrilled to welcome Nathan Mason to the Cougar family! Nathan brings extensive coaching success and experience to our veteran program, as well as a hunger to continue learning the game through training and licensing. He is fully committed to our vision for the future of Cougar soccer and Columbia College Athletics, and we could not be more excited to watch him lead the program!" said Athletic Director, Cindy Potter.

Mason coached six of William Woods' NAIA All-Americans, the program's first AMC Player of the Year, an AMC Newcomer of the Year, all three of the program's AMC Freshman of the Years, 17 All-AMC First Team recipients and 27 All-AMC Honorable Mention recipients. Academically, he coached four CoSIDA Academic All-America recipients, 17 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes and 70 Academic All-AMC honorees.

Nathan holds many license's and certificates in coaching, such as National B, C, and D licenses.

"The opportunity to lead the Men's Soccer program in front of a community I belong to is truly inspiring. The energy, passion, and hunger to succeed are vital to me and Columbia College. John Klein built a winning culture, one of the best programs in the NAIA for many years, and we will continue to thrive and have something we are all proud of." Mason said.

Mason graduated from McKendree University where he played soccer and earned multiple All-Conference awards. Then he attended William Woods University for his Masters of Education in Athletics and Activities Administration, followed by the University of Delaware for a Master Soccer Coach Graduate Certificate, and United Soccer Coaches - Master Coach and Soccer Leader.Â
