Allison Helsel enters her third year with the Columbia College women's basketball coaching staff as an assistant fall of 2026.
The Cougar alum ('22, '24) spent five years playing for the Columbia women's basketball program, serving as a team captain for three years. While playing for the Cougars, she contributed to three American Midwest Conference (AMC) Tournament Championships, also making four-straight NAIA Women's Basketball Opening Round appearances.
She accumulated a host of accolades at CC including Academic All-AMC (x5), NAIA Daktronics Scholar Athlete (x2), College Sports Communicators Academic All-District (x2), and All-AMC Third Team. Helsel (Stiers) is also the winningest player in program history, a member of the 100 win club, and 1,000 point club. She set a single game record, making eight three pointers. During her senior year, Helsel (Stiers) shot 45 percent from the field and 42 percent from the three point line.
Helsel served as guard coach for Lexi Miller ('26), who holds CC's career three-point record.
She resides in Columbia, Mo. with her husband, Kaden and daughter, Blakely.
