Heather English joined the Cougars staff for the 2019-2020 season. English acted as the strength and conditioning coach as well as the wing’s position coach.

A Boonville, Mo. native, she grew up playing competitive basketball, soccer, softball, and ran track.  She attended Boonville High School, where she focused on basketball and ran track in the off-season. She was a member of the Columbia College Women’s Basketball program from 2010-2014. During her career she was a two-year team captain. She garnered Freshman Player of the Year honors, was three-time First Team All-Conference, was two-time Player of the Year, and was a three-time NAIA All-American. English is a member of the Columbia College Century Club with a record of 105-31. She had her jersey hung in the Ring of Honor at the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in Tennessee. She left CC ranked 2nd in career points (1,861), 4th in career steals (276), 4th in career three pointers (209), and 6th in career assists (324). She was inducted into the Columbia College Hall of Fame in October 2019.

After graduation, English pursued playing basketball overseas, receiving an offer to play professional basketball in Spain. She played semi pro basketball in St. Louis for one year, before deciding to pursue other opportunities. From 2015 to 2018, she was a trainer and area manager for 9Round Kickboxing. She also coached competitive basketball teams for Synergy Sports in Columbia, Mo.

Currently, English is a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor for Orangetheory Fitness and working towards her Masters in Education at Columbia College.
