Box Score Columbia, Mo. - The Cougar men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 shutout loss to seventh-ranked Ashford (Iowa) University on Saturday night. Columbia, ranked 15^th in the NAIA Top 25, falls to 9-4-3 with the defeat.

The Saints would get on the board in the tenth minute of play as Lucas Almeida snuck a free kick over the outstretched arms of goalkeeper Matt McKenna. Despite a 7-3 shot advantage in the opening period, the Cougars went into the halftime break trailing 1-0. Columbia would have several scoring opportunities over the final 45 minutes, but the Ashford defense was able to complete the shutout with the help of three saves by keeper Patrick Kinsella.

The Cougars will look to get back on track when they host Lindenwood University-Belleville on Wednesday, October 23^rd for senior day. Columbia will honor seven seniors prior to game time at 7:00 p.m. at R. Marvin Owens Soccer Stadium.
