Columbia, Mo. – The Columbia College soccer squad tallied a victory tonight at home, dropping conference foe Hannibal-LaGrange University 1-0. Columbia improves to 9-4-2 on the season and 7-2-1 in American Midwest Conference (AMC) play. The Trojans of Hannibal La-Grange fall to 8-7-0 overall and 6-3 in league play.
The Cougars got on the board in the first half, when
Nick Horne netted a goal in the 28th minute of play off an assist by
Kory McDonald. Horne's 5
th goal of the season would mark the lone tally of the match.
The Trojans outshot the Cougars 11 (three on-goal) to seven (two on-goal) for the match. Junior goalkeeper
Daniel Ainsworth registered the win, saving three shots on goal.
The Cougars wrap up regular season play Wednesday, Oct. 29
th when they host No. 10 Grand View University. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. at R. Marvin Owens Soccer Stadium.
