Columbia, Mo. – The Cougar women's soccer team defeated Hannibal La-Grange University 2-0 tonight in an American Midwest Conference (AMC) match up. With the win, Columbia improves to 9-5-1 on the year and 9-1-0 in AMC play while the Trojans fall to 6-10-0 on the season and 5-5-0 in conference play.
Junior
Kelly Ross notched her team leading 9
th goal in the 29
th minute to put the Cougars on the board after connecting with
Tori Magaletta. The Cougars outshot the Trojans 14-0 in the first 45 minutes, but was unable to add to their lead heading into the second half.
The second Cougar goal came in the 66
th minute after a corner kick from
Laurie Frew was touched by
Hannah Baptiste and kicked in by
Carlie Howe for her first goal of the season. The Cougars were able to hold the Trojans scoreless the rest of the match to pick up their seventh shutout of the season.
The Cougars outshot the Trojans 27-0 for the game.
Flavia Rosado earned the win in goal.
Today's contest also marked Columbia's final home game of the 2014 regular season. Seniors

Erica Ramirez and
Tori Magaletta were recognized before the contest. The Cougars wrap up regular season play Thursday, Oct, 27
th when they travel across town to take on conference foe Stephens College. Match time is set for 3:00 p.m.
